“When Feminine modes of wisdom are banished to the nether regions of the collective consciousness, they tend to manifest in disruptive, vengeful ways, but sometimes vultures, black mares, whirlwinds, and savage hounds are exactly what a woman needs to define her form and show off her best features.”
Linda Kohanov
“Horses give women a specific channel by which to express ourselves-a way to let go, to live out our dreams in an uninhibited way.”
Barbara Schulte
Welcome to Week Two
In this lesson we will begin to paint our primitive horse and continue to add our own personal symbols and marks to our cave wall. Along with our primitive horse we will integrate our feminine wisdom figure to represent the ancient relationship and connection that has existed between us for centuries.
Horses can help us to remember and return to our raw, primal, instinctual selves when need be. When we listen to the guidance that our inner horse has to offer, we find that we can navigate more fluidly through challenging and difficult situations. We learn to trust that our primal nature and untamed selves will gently lead us to rivers of wisdom.
Spend some time this week noticing what the horse means to you; symbolically, literally and figuratively, as an object of power and freedom, as a partner, and as inspiration. How has the horse moved through you and played a role in your life?
