Are you ready to see what’s on the OTHER side of playing it safe with your art?
Come with an open hearted willingness and be ready to dive deep! I will open the portal with deepening and loosening exercises, and hold a safe container for your Soul to lead where the magic lives. There will be light instruction in various techniques, but that will only take you so far….. the fun begins when you dare to step into uncharted waters of your inner landscape. I’m here to hold your hand across the threshold and stand as sacred witness to your journey.  Deepening your Trust in navigating the unknown is the real work. All styles welcome, including abstract and realism.

Here’s what you’ll need for the adventure…

Begin with zero expectations.

  • Go big! A large canvas is recommended (30×40″ or 36×36″) 
  • 2 sheets of gesso’d watercolor paper
  • Acrylic paints in your favorite colors – include transparent opacities. 
  • Liquitex gloss medium & varnish
  • Assortment of brushes, including a 1″ & 2″ flat/filbert and a fan brush, brayer, tools
  • Inktense pencils & charcoal
  • Bag Lunch (refrigerator available)

  • Learn techniques in creating ethereal, translucent effects, strengthen contrasts, and build layers of mystery
  • Receive guidance in SEEING and HEARING what is revealing itself through your canvas
  • Learn to paint from a “Receptive” disposition rather than controlling the process 
  • Create in a safe, non-critic environment with radical permission to explore and Allow authentic expression  
  • Enjoy a beautiful, light-filled, air-conditioned studio space as well as outdoor patio painting 

2 weeks before your workshop, you’ll receive a brief questionnaire about your creative journey so I can fully support you during our time together.

My studio is located in the gorgeous foothills of the Sierras in California, off Highway 49. Grass Valley and Nevada City are full of quaint eateries, tasting rooms, live music, galleries and our beloved Yuba River. I recommend you book your accommodation soon after you register.
